Pastor’s Note-April 2019

If you are reading this, then congratulations! You’ve survived the great winter of 2019! As I write this it is warm outside, the robins have returned, and my chickens are happily laying eggs again. Welcome to spring!

With spring comes a flurry of activity and since I know you have lots to do, this will be a short note. Please join me in giving thanks to everyone who gave of themselves for the spring semester of Pioneer Club. Despite a record five (!) weeks of cancellations due to weather, we were able to continue reaching out to our community’s kids and youth with the good news of Jesus. If you were involved teaching classes, serving meals, giving financially, or in any other way, I’d like to thank you for your service. The Lord Jesus is glorified, and our community is served every Wednesday night when our building is filled with loud and happy kids.

Looking ahead to April, please take a second to note the schedule for all Holy Week services. As you will see, Forreston Grove has the privilege of hosting our community’s Easter Sunrise service this year. I hope you’ll join me bright and early on Easter morning as we gather to worship and celebrate the amazing truth that not even the grave could keep the Lord Jesus Christ. Because He lives, we shall too. Can I also mention that there will be breakfast immediately following the sunrise service?

Holy Week Service Schedule: April 18-21st

Maundy Thursday—7:00 pm at Forreston Grove

Good Friday Community Service—7:00 pm at Forreston Reformed Church

Easter Sunrise Service—6:30 am at Forreston Grove, with breakfast following

Easter Service—10:30 am at Forreston Grove

That’s it for now. May the Lord bless and keep you all.
